Hazel Green community supports mother with donations following house fire
This fundraiser is for my friend and her family after they lost their home in a devastating house fire on Thursday, October 1. The explosion happened around 1 PM. By grace, there was no loss of life and no injuries, but the family lost their home and so much of what they depended on every day.
Two children, ages 11 and 12, have lost everything in the fire. The 11-year-old child is autistic and lost all of her emotional support animals, specifically her Douglas dogs, along with her comfort items in the fire. On top of that, her other child is medically complex, and that child’s medication was burned in the fire. My friend is deeply thankful to be alive, but she is also overwhelmed and has told me she does not know how she is going to restart her entire life.
